Thought some of you guys might be interested.

The TV show "Pinks" (on Speed TV channel I think) will be filming an episode at Pacific Raceways in Kent/Auburn on the evening of September 23rd, 2006.

Here is a link to one of the local shops doing a build-up for the episode...I wonder if it's going to be turbo'd : http://www.horsepowerconnection.com/

If I am mobile enough by then, I plan on making it down there to watch.

Damn Rolly I wish I would have known you were there. I was on the tower side parked in the grass with 3 other trucks and LOTS of beer. Was fun driving through the crowd to get to and fro. Oh a red 67 camaro too. How about the final when the canooks had there azz handed to them by Jim. Or the super squirly run by the maliboooo

Now that the dust has settled, I suppose it's ok to say this......

On the saturday before Pinks, when Dennis and I were at Pacific and Brian was testing.... there quickest/fastest pass of the day was a 9.0 at 157 mph. I forget where the boost was, but it was high. This was done just before they were informed by track officials that due to the driver not being licensed and the car not being 9 second certified, that they were done for the day! The official delivering the message was cordial and polite, but stated that those in the tower were extremely pi$$ed!

Damn..... I could not believe the number of people that showed up at Pinks! Pacific Raceway was crowded. Parking was over in the grassy field and with no lights, it took me 30 minutes to find my truck afterwards.

Brian Macey and group lost their Malibu.... per the negotiations, they were limited to 7.2 lbs of boost verified by one of the Pinks personnel using Brians data logger. Brian says that they were fouling plugs and the opposing team would not allow a plug change.... Brian believes that with new plugs they would have won even with the low boost. They did go all 5 rounds.

To all the sponsors of the Horsepower Connection
(Brian Macey)............ your efforts made the car look good, run strong, and the event possible. To Brian, John and the crew, GREAT effort guys for building a race car in 3 weeks!

Dennis and I went out to Pacific Raceway yesterday to watch some of the fast street classes race. There were some very quick rides there.

We ran into Brian Macey and the car he is building for Pinks. Brian says the criteria to be on Pinks is a vehicle that will run 10:50's on the motor without power adders..... and will run quicker with power adders. Brian's build is a Chevy Caprice (I think) with a small block and turbo. When the car ran, the scoreboard was off and did not give et or mph..... only the crew knows what it ran. I can say that Brian confirmed that the car with low boost ran the basic criteria mentioned above. And later runs with higher boost.... it appeared quicker.

At this point they (John the owner, Brian the builder and tuner) have NO idea who or what they will be paired against...... but it was confirmed that they will go home with either an empty trailer OR one with two vehicles in it.

This is gonna be interesting ;-)

Oops my mistake. I thought someone told me they were at the same place.

Just an fyi to save confusion for some.....

Pinks is at Pacific, BOP is at Bremerton, both on the 23rd. Ya could race at BOP and then watch Pinks at Pacific.......

Pinks could be interesting tho as Brian Macey is putting together one of the rides to race in Pinks... he owns the 8 second Turbo Nova that has appeared at Turbo Thunder in the past. Sweet quick ride! Dunno what he's building for whomever will race in Pinks, but it definately has the potential for being bad a$$!

So remember..... BOP in B, Pink in P. Got that?

If I am not mistaken, that is also the weekend of the BOP, "Buick Olds Pontiac" races. I participated in that race a couple of years ago..and ran my 13.60 ET :)
I think that was the last time I raced it too.. :(
I think we can race our trucks there. You guys should do it, I will probably have the GN there.
Check it out!
